Malaysia's soaring crime rate
Get yourself a copy of Utusan Malaysia (the online version would be good enough), and you'll notice that there will always be some kind of news about death and killing. I notice that this upsurge in homicide has just taken place lately. When I said lately, I refer to 3-4 months ago. Even the public notices this.
According to my observation, this trend started slightly before the infamous Norita case. The norita case, is said to be comparable to the OJ Simpson case from America. Well, that comparison does make some sense, as both of the accused got away from their intended sentences.
Anyway, one of the famous crime method currently in KL is bag (or handbag) snatching. It seems that almost everyday you'll find a story about guys on motorcycles snatching peoples bag and then running away. It is so pathethic that I feel like wacking these sad mofos myself. There are rumors running around in coffee shops that the sadist behind these crimes are illegal immigrants. The reason behind this accusation is that they wanted quick money, and robbing is a quick way of doing so.
Todays headline reads a father that killed 3 of his children before hanging himself to death. Again, another sadistic story. A few pages later you'll read a wife stabs his husband due to jealousy. A few weeks back there was a hot case about a boy got killed after being beaten to death by a few Thai immigrants (who used their holiday visa to work illegally). A few days before I came back to Melbourne, I heard that a distant relative of mine just lost his car.
Now there, was is actually happening in my beloved country? Apparently these criminals are still at large (the 'bag snatches') and the cops aren't doing anything helpful to bring down the crime rate. Now I understand why the previous Prime Minister ordered all illigal immigrants to be caned before sending them back. :)
